Auctions $60,375 Highboy
DEDHAM, MASS. - On February 2 a Massachusetts flattop highboy
sold for $60,375 at Grogan's Winter Auction.
The narrow width (base some 37 inches, top approximately 35
inches) accentuated the verticality of the 74-inch case piece. A
center drawer of each section was decorated with a sunburst-type
fan.
The high bidder told correspondent Bob Jackman, "I am a
Connecticut collector, and I bought it for another Connecticut
collector. He is an advanced, sophisticated collector, and I am
sure that he will be very happy with it."
