with Flowers' and a $33,000 Bid at Bertoia's
A Lil' Red Riding Hood mechanical bank topped the sale at
$38,500.
VINELAND, N.J. - "Say It With Flowers." It wasn't Mothers Day, an
anniversary, or a birthday, that had the slogan on the lips of
toy collectors nationwide - it was an auction at Bertoia's that
featured a rare, large, cast iron toy "Say It With Flowers"
delivery motorcycle.
The piece was part of a huge and eclectic toy auction featuring
everything from mechanical banks to doorstops. The motorcycle
delivery toy fetched an impressive $33,000.
The sale, which took place this past Saturday, May 17, also
posted strong results for many other items including the top lot
of the auction, a Lil Red Riding Hood mechanical bank at $38,500.
Other items included an Ernest Plank airplane with box selling at
$16,500, a Goodwin Walker hoop toy at $22,000, and an Oriental
Bru JNE #7 doll that fetched $14,300.
Prices include the ten percent buyer's premium. A complete review
