Britains Set Marches to $35,200 at Bertoia's
VINELAND, N.J. -- Toy soldiers marched to the forefront of Bill
and Jeanne Bertoia's October Antique Toy Auction with a rare set
of Britains bringing $35,200. The horseback mounted soldiers, set
39, retained the original box, consisted of 72 figures and had
been consigned by Connecticut collector Dimitri Ilyinski.
Another item to generate substantial interest was a Mikado
mechanical bank selling at $45,000.
