Miami Beach Antiques Show Dazzles Over Its Five-Day Run

:The Original Miami Beach Antique Show transformed the Miami Beach Convention Center into an antiquing wonderland. The show offered a five-day frenzy of antique shopping January 11–15.

More than 1,000 exhibitors traveled from around the globe to exhibit at The Original Miami Beach Antique Show including celebrity artist Stanislas Kostka, who has painted for the British Royal Family, the Vatican, the Palace of Versailles, and Princess Stephanie of Monaco.

Richard Sakai of Sakai Antiques, New York City, was in attendance with his son, Isak Sakai, who has been an exhibitor at this show for more than 35 years. Richard said, "This show is the only show we choose to exhibit at. We have always had a great time here, and we think that this is the best exposure for our merchandise." During the weekend, Sakai Antiques sold a pair of Nineteenth Century Sevres Napoleonic for $85,000.

This year's Original Miami Beach Antique Show showcased Eighteenth–Twentieth Century fine art and furniture, textiles, fine jewelry, and ceramics. One item that caused a buzz was a watch owned by Franklin D. Roosevelt shown by Ron Geweniger of Old World Jewelers.

Edmond Crimi of Best of France Antiques was pleased with the event and said he made some good sales.

Alex Carpenter was a visitor at this year's show and was impressed with the quantity of items displayed, saying, "I am especially taken back with the selection of items brought in from so many different countries."

The show's promoter, dmg world media, will present next year's show January 31–February 3.
