Unfired Pistols Hit $276,000 Bull's-eye at Julia's

PORTSMOUTH, N.H.
: - A spectacular pair of Nimschke engraved gold and nickel single-action Army revolvers by Colt led the way at Julia's auction of Important Firearms over the weekend of October 6.

The auction was conducted over the course of three days with a gross of more than $3 million realized.

The rare cased pistols, in .45 caliber, were shipped from the factory in 1876 and remained in extremely fine condition, apparently unfired. The pistols were cataloged as being the finest in single-action revolvers and they brought a price to substantiate that claim with the lot selling at $276,000.

A complete review will appear in a future issue.
