:Early's fall art glass auction conducted on October 28-29 at the
Radisson Hotel at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport was a
stellar sale by all accounts. Several private collections
throughout the country contributed to strong offerings in all
categories, including Tiffany, Steuben, Quezal, Mount Washington
and New England.
A rare plated amberina pinch-sided vase with a quadra-fold rim,
that came from the estate of the art glass collection of Maude
Feld, passed its $4/6,000 presale estimate to bring $27,600.

A Tiffany Studios lily table lamp with a signed bronze base
and ten Favrile lily shades climbed past the $16/20,000 estimate to
sell for $46,000 and a Tiffany iridescent tulip form vase sold for
$13,800, high above its estimate as well. Another strong Tiffany
flower form with excellent coloring at 16 inches in height brought
$18,400.
Mount Washington glass was exceptionally strong, highlighted by a
peachblow glass vase in the Queen's design retaining the original
paper label. This sold for $26,450. Another Mount Washington
rarity to sell was an important two-handled Burmese vase
decorated in the Desert Series, featuring a richly adorned
elephant moving through a desert oasis. This is one of the rarest
examples Early's has ever seen and it brought $20,700. A Mount
Washington Royal Flemish water pitcher featuring an underwater
scene of swimming fish moving through sea grass and shells sold
for $14,950.

One of the most anticipated lots in the auction was a Thomas
Webb & Sons English cameo vase hand carved by George Woodall.
This intricately detailed work of art titled "Idle Moments" brought
$37,500. Another Webb highlight was a perfume carved by Jules Barbe
for Webb featuring brilliant amethyst dahlias and a gold lid
featuring jeweled lion heads made by Tiffany & Co. This
21/4-inch gem soared past the $6/9,000 estimate to bring $17,250.
Prices reported include the 15 percent buyer's premium.
This sale rounded out a strong year at Early's, and the firm
said it is now accepting consignments for April, July and
