‘Star Wars’ Fighter Soars To $402,500 At Profiles In History Auction

:Profiles in History offered more than 1,100 iconic Hollywood items at a two-day Hollywood memorabilia auction July 31–August 1.

The top lot was the original TIE Fighter filming miniature from Star Wars: A New Hope that achieved $402,500. From Hollywood to early Americana, the second highest grossing lot was an early Abraham Lincoln albumen photograph, signed, which attained $207,000.

Memorabilia from blockbuster films drove the auction, however, led by standouts such as an Ian Fleming autograph manuscript relating to the James Bond movie From Russia With Love at $74,750, and the pair of Ten Commandments tablets toted by Charlton Heston in The Ten Commandments that was purchased by Triviamania.com for $69,000.

Other offerings included Michael J. Fox's "Marty McFly" character's Mattel hoverboard from the films Back to the Future Part II & III that brought $63,250 and Ben Affleck's "Daredevil" hero costume from Daredevil at $57,500.

As in past auctions here, screen-used props and materials from the Jurassic Park trilogy are solid performers. Auction highlights included a full scale animatronic male Velociraptor from Jurassic Park III that fetched $69,000, a full-scale male T-Rex head from The Lost World: Jurassic Park II at $54,625 and a full-scale Velociraptor suit from Jurassic Park III at $40,250.

The auction also sold a Roald Dahl original working manuscript of his James Bond screenplay You Only Live Twice for $48,875, the original hero ray gun and holster from Forbidden Planet for $46,000 and a Dracula re-release one-sheet poster at $40,250.

Rounding out the event was an archive of original Ben-Hur concept artwork for $40,250, a "Jack Skellington" filming miniature house from The Nightmare Before Christmas for $40,250 and The Holy Grail from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade that was bought by Triviamania.com for $25,875.
