:William Jenack's auction on February 8 achieved strong prices on a variety of select items.

A standout in the sale was a New York carved, gilt and ebonized Grecian Revival sofa, circa 1825. The classic Grecian-style sofa with scroll ends, lion's paw feet and very early upholstery was a fine example of the period besides being in extraordinary condition. The sofa had been in the possession of the New Jersey consignor's family for generations. Competition between anxious telephone, absentee, online and in-house bidders drove the final price to $28,750.

In the fine art category, an Andy Warhol (American, 1928–1987) hand colored lithograph, "Sam One Blue Pussy!" fetched $1,650; and Cuban artist Carlos Sorbino's (1909–1971) oil on canvas "Pan and Satyr" brought $1,265. Other paintings performing well were a Kenneth Frazier (American, 1867–1949) oil on canvas, "View along the Hudson," that realized $1,265; while an oil on canvas by a modern Brazilian artist Afonso M.F. Oliveira, titled "Sentimento de Mento," 1982, was both colorful and erotic, reaching $1,093.

A good buy at $3,105 was this 14K yellow gold and diamond cocktail ring with total weight 5.92 carats.

Rounding out the auction, a vintage Stella carved mahogany 9½-inch disk music box with 63 assorted disks brought $920; a pair late Federal gilt and ebonized bull's-eye mirrors sold for $978; and a 14K yellow gold and diamond cocktail ring with a total of 5.92 carats of diamonds that was a great buy at $3,105.
