:For the third time in a year, a Howard #61 regulator was sold at Fontaine's clock and watch auction with the most recent regulator achieving $161,000 Saturday, May 30.
This clock was consigned by relatives of the original owner, who purchased it directly from E. Howard & Co. in 1884. The clock performed just above its $75/125,000 estimate.
A Howard #87 floor regulator ($25/35,000) also performed well at $80,500. The gross for the two-day auction was $1.2 million.
