:On September 2, Dallas Auction Gallery hosted an auction featuring a Pierre Auguste Renoir "Le Chapeau Epingle" lithograph in sanguine, a pair of Chinese carved ivory foo lions, an important Chinese Ming Zhengde imperial blue and white porcelain table screen, a Regency-style carved marble garden bench, a Joseph Emmanuel Zwiener table de salon, a Chinese Qing dynasty zitan altar table and a 40-piece collection of antique Palissy ware.
The Renoir lithograph, which was signed and dated 1897, was from an edition of 200. It was a highlight of the show when it sold in the middle of its $12/18,000 presale estimate at $16,730.

The Qing dynasty zitan rectangular altar table had humpback stretchers below the aprons, and four square form legs with horseshoe-style feet. The piece came from the estate of a collector who was a former ambassador to China under the last Emperor of the Qing dynasty. The 45-by-13¾-by-32-inch table had a $30/40,000 estimate, but went well past that to close at $56,762.
Another important Chinese lot was a Ming Zhengde imperial blue and white porcelain table screen depicting floral scrolls around a circular panel. The back and a narrow band at the base are unglazed, and six character mark below read, "Great Ming Zhengde Production," Similar to the one found at the Percival Foundation of Chinese Art exhibited at the British Museum of Art, the screen is 16¾ by 75 by 13¾ inches and dates to circa 1505–1521. When it sold at $47,800, it went well above its high estimate of $30,000.

A table de salon by German Joseph Emmanuel Zwiener, circa second half of the Nineteenth Century, realized $17,925. With a shaped top with floral marquetry, the table had two frieze drawers and two false drawers on the back. The cabriole legs had ribbon-tied cornucopia ormolu terminals and ormolu sabots.
The Regency-style carved marble garden bench, the ends carved with winged griffins and shields, the bench seat with carved acanthus border, was 40 inches high by 78 inches long and 24 inches wide, circa mid-Nineteenth Century. The final price of $14,340 was almost three times the presale high estimate.
Another top lot was a French Palissy platter by Francois Maurice. The mottled ground fading from blue to green to brown, the whole is decorated with crisply modeled marine and bug life, as well as fauna. Signed F. Maurice lower right edge, the platter realized $5,078.
