: For more than a quarter century Frost & Reed has exhibited
Nineteenth and Twentieth Century classical and contemporary
equestrian and sporting art at the Annual Saratoga Springs event,
slated for July 30 to August 23.
Tony Nevill, managing director of the London firm, which opened
its first US gallery off Madison Avenue last October, says,
"Represented in this year's exhibition are works by Harold
Septimus Power, an early contemporary of legendary sporting
artist Sir Alfred Munnings and two large canvases by John Sargent
Noble. Perhaps the most important art on view will be two
paintings by the Twentieth Century American artists Aiden Lassell
Ripley, 'Pheasant Country' and 'Setter on Point.' He painted in
Massachusetts and has a large following of admirers throughout
the United States."
Works by Sir Alfred Munnings, Montague Dawson, and Marcel Dyf
will be featured, as will those by Heather St Clair Davis, a
British equestrian artist whose works will be shown in Saratoga
for the first time since her death four years ago. Also featured
will be creations by fellow British equestrian artist Peter Smith
and American sporting artist Booth Malone.
Other artists represented include George Garrard, descended from
Marcus Garrard, a painter to Queen Elizabeth I; Heywood Hardy, a
sporting painter spanning the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries;
and Jean Baptiste Louis Guy, an animal painter.
The exhibit will be displayed at the Prime Hotel and
Conference Center, 534 Broadway, 9 am to 6 pm daily. For
