: John Pence Gallery, 750 Post Street near Union Square, is
presenting a large exhibition of recent oil paintings by Steven
J. Levin. This will be his fourth solo show with John Pence and
it will continue through October 11.
Levin, 39, is a distinguished oil painter who creates work with a
timeless quality. Classically trained in Minnesota, he has
emerged as a pivotal player in the resurgence of the American
Realist Movement.
Levin's reputation as a colorist is strengthened by his sense of
space, dimension and atmosphere. His observational skills cover a
wide range of subjects including still lifes, figures, portraits,
the landscape, florals and interiors.
The gallery is open Monday-Friday, 10 m to 6 pm, and Saturday,
