: Cincinnati Art Galleries will feature a retrospective of
paintings by Charles Meurer from his early trompe l'oeil still
lifes to his later impressionistic landscapes, opening Friday,
March 5, 5-8 pm and Saturday, March 6, 10 am-4 pm. The show will
continue through March 31.
A lecture on Meurer's life by Julie Aronson, curator of American
paintings and sculp-ture at the Cincinnati Art Museum, will take
place at the gallery on March 6 at 1.
The gallery, at 225 East 6th Street, features a continually
changing display of European and American paintings, Rookwood
pottery and other American and European art potteries and art
glass. Hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday- Friday, and 10 am to 4 pm
on Saturdays.
