Antiques Missing After Break-In, Burglary In Rochester, Mass.

:The Rochester Police Department is investigating a reported break-and-enter burglary of a home here that occurred some time between October 29 and November 5. Stolen were a great many antiques, including a large kitchen table. Entry was apparently through a back window, which investigators noted was missing a small pane.

Stolen items included about six boxes of old books, some of which, according to the caretaker who reported the break in, had records from a sawmill that had been founded by a member of the family, and posters of the Rochester Baseball league of the early and mid-1900s. There were also some old games removed from the house.

Stolen items included an antique Delco radio, Victrola record player, rocking chairs, painted dresser, an antique sharpening stone, kerosene lighting, baskets, maps, paintings and many other items. The home's caretaker is to provide the police with a list of the items taken along with their approximate values.

The case remains under investigation, and anyone having information as to the whereabouts of any of the items can contact Officer Sean Crook of the Rochester Police Department at 508-763-5112, reference Incident No. 07-339-OF.
