One of the pieces reported missing from a collection of vintage handbags.
:On October 4 Deborah Tierney reported that "a great number" of bags from her collection of more than 400 vintage handbags were missing. She is not sure when they were taken as she had last looked at her collection in August. The Windsor Police are treating it as a case of larceny.
Tierney's list of missing bags includes several glass beaded bags, some large and rectangular, one being purple/black with iridescent beads and a beige cloth insert with purple flowers, and a black stone on the clasp.
Also missing are several German silver bags, a Whiting and Davis white flat mesh with shamrocks and other metal and mesh-type bags. Also, an unlined bag, peach color with red holly on it and wreath pull, in a Christmas-type theme; a white bag with blue on it and a castle toward the left side; a couple of Indian carpet bags, some multicolored, one with an aqua background; a round bag with a string top with a scene of a deer in the woods; and another of the same type with a man and woman on it.
Tierney said she had at least 20 small, rectangular mesh bags made in France in gold and silver and steel mesh. "I have been collecting them since I was 17 and my grandfather bought a lot of them for me."
