Antiques, Art & Fossils Stolen From Estate In Gainesville, Fla.

:The theft of works of art, antiques fossils, and collectibles was reported on May 7 from an estate here. The home was broken into between May 4 and May 7.

Artwork stolen includes "Sweet Gator Dreams" by Cathy Laurenzi of High Springs, Fla., measuring 20 by 30, 3/250, an oil on canvas with original Gesso frame, Indian, no signature, and a chalk by Robert Bateman, 1997, "'Chief' Buffalo."

A bronze "Yellow Fin Tuna" by Kent Ullberg, a listed artist, was among the artworks reported stolen as were several frog figures by Tim Cotterill.

Also, an Indian prayer rug with backward counterclockwise cross, circa 1890s; a bronze, "As They Were," from CA Pardell and a bronze, "Comanche on the Run," by Jim Reno (1929–2008) 18/30 from 1987.

Other items include a Bureau of Indian affairs corpse tag #9 Wy Territory, an oil on canvas of Enrico Carouso, two Theodore Roosevelt photo inscription and signatures, one dated 2/14/1908, and a helmet as armor cast steel German Burgonet helmet.

Several firearms and weapons were reported taken, including four holsters, original 1800s Western; and a knife with white and silver scabbard.

Natural history items include a Triceratops vertebra, a sabercat skull, two dinosaur teeth, including one from Hill Creek, S.D, a rare phacopse rana milleri trilobite, a spider trilobite, a piece of amber with bugs, coporalite and a Theriziniosauras hand claw.

Also reported stolen were an Egyptian papyrus, a faience ornament turquoise and a 2,000-year-old bronze Roman arrowhead. The case number is 02-09-008813. Anyone with information on these items is asked to call the Gainesville Police Department at 352-334-2499.
