WATERVILLE, MAINE, where the company's record-breaking sales
previously have been held at a hotel conference center.
"It's a city that is convenient to many of our customers," Inman
said, "and they're accustomed to attending our sales there.
Having our operations under one roof will allow us to maintain
the high level of customer service we've offered in the past."
In forming a Pennsylvania corporation, Inman is partnering with
dealer/collector Rick Both of Ivyland, Penn., who will acquire a
financial half-ownership of the company -- with Inman retaining
the other 50 percent -- and serve as a hands-on working
associate. Both, 45, has been involved in the antiques trade for
more than 25 years and has always had a desire to try his hand in
the auction business.
"Randy is an honorable person who has achieved a lot on his own,"
Both said. "I had expressed an interest before in partnering with
Randy, so it's very exciting to see it all happening, now. I
think my coming on board will take us to another level and that
the company's future is amazing."
At present, Inman and Both are considering several commercial
buildings located within proximity to Allentown's Lehigh Valley
International Airport, one of which will become the new
headquarters for Randy Inman Auctions. The partners anticipate
holding their next sale -- an antique toy, advertising and coin
op auction scheduled for October 10-12 -- in the new gallery and
warehouse complex.
Founded in 1996, Randy Inman Auctions has handled many
collections, including the Buddy 'L' Toy Company Archive, whose
first of two sessions grossed close to $2.5 million, the highest
amount ever achieved at a toys-only auction. For information,
