:After a brief illness, longtime antiques dealer Dominick H.
Troiani died on July 7 at the age of 89.
Dominick was one of three brothers and a sister; he was born in
New York City in 1916. With his wife Ruth, he was involved in the
antiques business for more than 40 years dealing and collecting.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two sons, Don and
David, and grandchildren Marc and Jessica.
In 1942 he and Ruth married in New Orleans while he was on leave
from the Army. During World War II Dominick served in the
Headquarters Company of the 358th Field Artillery, 95th Infantry
Division, in France and Germany, 1944-1945, including the siege
of Metz. After the war he was a commercial artist who specialized
in hand lettering for advertising agencies in New York City.
Dominick and Ruth collected antiques since the late 1940s, and
they went into the profession full-time in the 1960s. They had a
summer shop for a short time in Camden, Maine, and participated
in many of the major antiques shows for decades.
Dominick will be buried in private services at Arlington National
Cemetery.
