:The Toledo Museum of Art has reinstalled the recently recovered Francisco de Goya y Lucientes painting "Children with a Cart," 1778, and it is currently on view in Gallery 28A for a limited time.

After having been stolen in November 2006, the painting was recovered unharmed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and returned in early January to the Toledo Museum of Art, where it is part of the permanent collection.

"We are thrilled that this painting has been safely recovered and returned home to Toledo," museum director Don Bacigalupi said. "I hope that everyone in the community will take this opportunity to share our excitement and welcome the Goya back to the collection."

When stolen, the painting was en route from Toledo to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, where it was scheduled to be included in the exhibition "Spanish Painting from El Greco to Picasso: Time, Truth and History."

The Toledo Museum of Art is currently considering the possibility that the painting will join the exhibition at a later date.

An FBI investigation into the theft is ongoing.

The Toledo Museum of Art is at 2445 Monroe Street at Scottwood Avenue, just west of the downtown business district and one block off I-75 with exit designations posted. For information, 419-255-8000, 800-644-6862 or www.toledomuseum.org.
