:The Marburger Farm Antique Show, owned and managed since the early 1990s by John Sauls, has been sold, it was announced last week. The show's name and the facility at which it is conducted was sold for an undisclosed price to Margaret Marsh Mebus.
Mebus acknowledged that she and her family have purchased the operation. During the most recent show, October 2–6, Mebus, together with her son-in-law Rick McConn and daughter-in-law Ashley Ferguson, introduced themselves to all the dealers on the field to assure them of the future continuity of the show.
The show was created by Sauls roughly 15 years ago and it rapidly grew to its current size of about 400 exhibitors. The show site with more than 20 acres and approximately a dozen antique buildings was included in the sale. Round Top, named after the town where the show takes place, has a population of 84. The event has become so popular over the years that upwards of 10,000 visitors are in town during each of the biannual shows.
Mebus commented that the family's purchase was driven by their mutual goal "to have a family business where my children can be involved and where we and our vendors can grow the excellence for which Marburger Farm Antique Show is known throughout America." She added "John Sauls created this legacy and we plan to build on that."
Mebus also said Sauls has agreed to assist them with management of the show during the transition.
