Barry Cohen Announces Americana Week Show

New York City
:Show promoter Barry Cohen of b4rTIME has thrown his hat back into the Americana Week ring with the announcement that he will return in January with a revived Antiques Manhattan show. Cohen has not produced the show since 2003.

"The cancellation of the Americana at the Piers show for 2008 has left a good number of dealers without a suitable New York venue for Antiques Week in January," stated an email from b4rTIME sent last Friday, November 9. "Antiques Manhattan is poised to join the lineup of the other fine events in the city. This show will again be held at The Altman Building, immediately next door to The American Antiques Show (TAAS)."

The show, scheduled for Friday through Sunday, January 18–20, will offer a limited number of booths, reportedly accommodating up to 30 dealers.

Irene Stella, the promoter of the cancelled Americana at The Piers, commented that Stella Show Mgmt Co. is still exploring the possibility of finding suitable space for a show. The most recent location they explored was termed "too expensive" by Stella, citing booth rents in excess of $3,500.

Cohen's e-mail set prices for walled booths at Antiques Manhattan that range from $150 to $250 per linear foot (measured across the back wall). For further information about Antiques Manhattan, 703-914-1268.
