:- Identical twins Leigh and Leslie Keno believe that hidden
treasures can be found just about anywhere. Now, the stars of the
PBS favorite, Antiques Roadshow, will have a chance to
prove their theory as hosts of a new series, Find! PBS
will premiere Find!, which consists of 26 new half-hour
episodes, in October.
Created by the Emmy Award-winning team behind This Old
House and Ask This Old House, Find! will begin
each episode with the Kenos visiting viewers' homes around the
country searching for hidden treasures. They will call upon
experts in conservation, restoration, reproductions and other
fields to help viewers learn more about the objects around them.
Then it is on to the world of design and contemporary living, as
the Kenos visit interior designers in show houses and private
homes. The mixing of the old and the new will be the theme of
these segments, inspiring viewers to take a fresh look at their
own homes.
Leigh and Leslie Keno will also write a furniture and design
column for This Old House magazine, beginning with the
October issue, on sale September 15. There are plans to publish a
special issue of Find! in 2004.
Addressing viewers' concerns will be part of the show's format.
"Our Chippendale wing chair is suffering from a sagging seat and
the finish on the legs is dull." The Kenos will show why jute
webbing is the ideal material for a new seat's support and
recommend the appropriate treatment for the finish. The Kenos and
other experts will answer these and other questions while
exploring interior design, home decor, style, floor coverings and
textiles through field trips to manufacturers, show houses,
restoration studios and museums.
Find! is a production of Find Productions, Inc., a
subsidiary of Find Ventures, Inc, which is an affiliate of Time4
Media? and a subsidiary of Time Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary
of AOL Time Warner Inc. Find! will be distributed to PBS
by WGBH Boston.
