| The author of Fun Fabrics of the 50s brings us a look at what we tried hard to forget until the early 90s, when someone decided 60s design efforts should be revived. Those pastel and flashy florals, patchwork calicos, denims and stripes, wild abstract geometrics and neon paisleys are back, and it's actually kind of fun to relive them while safely clad in natural, more subtle fabrics. "For baby boomers like me," writes the author in her introduction, "this `trip' back offers many memories of a time best remembered for its `funky' spirit." If, that is, the decade wasn't a complete blur for you. Featured are hundreds of designs in clothes, linens, upholstery and wallpaper (the kitchen samples will be particularly amusing/frightening for those who grew up in middle-class suburbia). Each example is accompanied by absolutely no explanation, but then, what can you say?
