| This, Snyder's most recent pottery guide (he is also the author of White Ironstone: A Survey of its Many Forms, Historic Flow Blue, and Franciscan Dining Services: A Comprehensive Guide with Values), is indebted to Jack Welch's article "The Homer Laughlin China Company," published in Goldenseal: West Virginia Traditional Life (Spring, 1985); Bob and Sharon Huxford's The Collector's Encyclopedia of Fiesta (Collector Books, 1992); and Jo Cunningham's The Collector's Encyclopedia of American Dinnerware (Collector Books, 1982), among others. Nevertheless, Snyder provides excellent color photographs, a basic history, a chapter on manufacturer's marks and trademards, and values with each caption "based on the results from Donn and Evelyn Jenkins' March 23, 1997, Fiesta auction." A decent overview for the beginner.
