| This 28th edition of the Art Sales Index for the 1995/96 season features 112,508 entries of oils, watercolors, drawings, sculpture and miniatures by some 36,964 artists sold at 2,303 auctions conducted by 398 auction houses. New features are photographs, prints and estimates; the auctioneer's reference code; and family trees. Also offered is the turnover and number of lots sold, by nationality of artist and country of sale; turnover and number of lots sold by pride bands in US dollars and pounds sterling; "Million Pound" and "Million Dollar" clubs, 98 and 165 entries respectively; top prices achieved by new artists at auction; and record prices achieved this season.
