| A catalogue of the exhibit by the same name staged at the Katonah Musem of Art, At Home offers an excellent look at American tastes as they changed from colonial times through the early Twentieth Century. "The interiors gathered here comprise primarily portraits and genre subjects set in noteworthy interiors decorated with art," writes Carbone. "As an ensemble, they present an opportunity to consider what art could mean in the context of American homes." Featured are 32 beautifully reproduced color images of works illustrating Carbone's points, while Stayton's essay, "A Novel Approach to Nineteenth Century Interiors and Tastemakers," is punctuated with black and white photographs, cartoons and drawings.
