7025 - Monumental white jade censer, China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), carved from a single piece of white jade; 7071 - Kesi embroidery, China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), woven to depict Daoist immortals enjoying a banquet of peaches against a red sky; 7072 - Kesi embroidery, China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), woven to depict the eight Daoist immortals offering birthday peaches to Xi Wangmu, the Queen Mother of the West; 7079 - Imperial kesi dragon robe, China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), the front woven with a pair of magnificent five-clawed dragons facing each other in gold thread, on an imperial yellow background; 7148 - White jade cup, China, 18th century, with carved flower and ring handles; 7150 - Spinach green jade brush pot, China, intricately carved with figures in a landscape scene, on a zitan wood stand.
Fine textiles and rare jade pieces will be the highlight of the January Asian sale at Kaminski Auctions, including an imperial Qing Dynasty silk kesi dragon robe and an exquisite 18th century white jade cup. Also offered are items from two important New England collections, one acquired in the 1950s from Frank Caro, the successor of well-known dealer C.T. Loo, the other from the family of Lawrence Mead, co-director of the International Student Association of Greater Boston, who spent many years teaching English at Beijing University in the 1930s.
