Museum de-accessions from Philadelphia Museum of Art, Glencairn Museum, Indianapolis Children ' s Museum, A New York City Fashion Museum, A New England University Collection, The estate of Carvell Kirkeeng and other private collections. Mr. Kirkeeng a long time California resident, actor and friend of Doloris Costello Barrymore collected clothing and accessories from some of Hollywood's finest homes. The Kirkeeng collection ranges from the 19th century to the 1960's with a focus on the 1920's to 1940's and the California designers of that period. Included in the California collection are seven Adrian ' s, Gladys Parker, Helen Rose, & Emma Domb, Pola Stout, other designers include Cassini, Chapman, Cardin, Courreges, Trigere, Galanos, Griffe, Gernreich, Valentino, Vuitton, Hermes, Pucci, Norell, McCardell, LaCroix, Dior, Molyneux, Missoni, Muir, Chanel, YSL, Tassell, Lanvin, etc. A Christian Dior Trompe l'oei runway model dress 1949, dozens of beaded 1920's dresses including one decorated with 6uddha ' s, French art deco beaded dress and coat sets, two Molyneux dresses, several lame dresses, hundreds of hats, shoes, including a collection of cowboy boots to be sold in large lots, designer accessories, handbags, beaded bags, some costume jewelry, etc. The textile portion of the sale will include the last of the Swatch Books from a New York City museum de-accession. The books include lace, silk ribbon, metallic, lame and other samples. In addition to the individual swatch books, the entire sample book and business records of the Crown Woolen Mills, operating in Marcellus, New York from 1884 until 1958, will be offered. The collection includes swatch books, company ledgers, journals, account and payroll books dating from 1876 thru 1958. The 200+ fabric swatch books date from 1914-1959 and together with the company ledgers comprise the entire archive of this company from 1881 to 1958. The Crown Mills Collection will be offered in its entirety as one lot.
