BEST in FORM!! A SUPERB Maine MACKEREL PLOW in original surface, having perhaps, a unique likeness of a bear forming its grip. The plow also has detailed metalic inlay featuring its makers initials "SLD". Hand carved of birch. 7 1/8 long and 2 7/8" tall. Maine, ca. 1900.

A graphic, colorful and OLD Oriental Prayer Rug. Measures 59" by 47 ". FINE original condition!

Detail of the handle of A STUNNING Folk Art carved and painted, 64" CANOE PADDLE in a SUPERIOR original surface. The length of its shaft is formed by a fully relief carved red snake which has yellow glass eyes and a green belly! The paddle measures 67" in length. Found in a Greenville, Maine home. Maine or New Brunswick, Ca. 1900. SUPERB original condition.

RARE and EARLY American Blown Glass, Paperweight Inkwell. Found recently in a Farmington, Maine home. Scarred pontil. 5 " tall. New England ca. 1850.

A remarkable Maine folk art "PEAVEY" stand having three hand turned, carved and nicely articulated log rolling tools or "Peaveys" forming its legs and holding its circular top. Original painted and stained surfaces. Oak top with maple "legs". Overall height 26 " with top measuring 12" diameter. Recently discovered in a Brewer, Maine home. North Central, Maine ca. 1880.

Paint Decorated Wooden Works Tall Clock. Seth Thomas. Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut ca. 1820. Recently discovered in a Farmington, Maine home. Dry, original and untouched surface. Height 94"

An 1836 signed "WILD GOOSE CHASE" pattern quilt with wonderful colors and an impressive variety of patterned fabrics. The quilt is signed in early ink: " Made by Jane P. Stewart 1835". An early paper tag is attached with the inscription "Made by Jane P. Stewart, Grandmother of Mrs. Henry J. Van Mater . Pattern: Wild Goose Chase 1835". The quilt measures 76" square and is in SUPERB original condition.

An outstanding selection of 18th Century Purses in colorful Flame and Fancy Stitch. Examples include two dated and signed examples along with another which has an early handwritten provenance, documenting its owner as having been carried through the American Revolution by Captain Nehemiah Emerson of Haverhill, Mass.

Part of a fine selection of Portrait Miniatures on Ivory. Some are in their original gold frames and one example is an identified 1830 New Orleans sitter with a full inscription on its back.

A HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT recent discovery of early HAWAIIAN and SANDWICH ISLANDS books and newspapers to include a complete run of 78 of the early HONOLULU newspaper, POLYNESIAN. The run is from June 6, 1840 (the first ever printing) to Dec. 11, 1841. The books include an 1843 Hawaiian Language Bible, an 1836 Hawaiian Language Dictionary and more.

Two 1807 Schoolgirl Watercolors painted at the BRADFORD (Massachusetts) ACADEMY. Original framing. A handwritten proveneance appears in pencil on the original wooden backing of each frame. Overall, in frames, they measure 13 1/8" by 11 " and 12 " by 11 ". Untouched original condition.

A late 18th century or early 19th century Schoolgirl Watercolor map of "THE WORLD", which is inscribed in the artist's hand below: "Projected by Mary Eliza Howe". Miss Howe, as a youth, lived in Francestown, New Hampshire. The map measures 17" by 28" (sight) and overall with its period replacement frame measures 21 " by 32". Mary Eliza Howe's name is trimmed to reveal only enough to identify her. Otherwise the map is in untouched and original condition.

An outstanding selection of early handwritten, Ship Logs and early ledgers, including 1774 & 1775 SHIPS LOGS of both the BRIG BETSEY and the BRIG POLLY of NEWBURYPORT, MASSACHUSETTS along with a REMARKABLE handwritten and illustrated 1760 ships log from the "Sloop Dove of Newburyport".

A fine selection of period American Candle Stands

A REMARKABLE mid 18th century canted front SEA CHEST having its ORIGINAL figural snake/butterfly hinges, wrought iron handles, light blue painted surface and a complex interior. A EARLY and SUPERIOR example, in remarkable condition! Rose head nails and bold dovetailing. Measures 50 " wide by 21 " tall and 20 " deep. Ca. 1750.

An EARLY and complex paper Cutwork Double Valentine that is mounted on its original fancily trimmed fabric backing and in its original red painted frame. Overall 12 " by 13 ".

Recently discovered in a Cape Ann, Massachusetts home, this early CUSHING (see Cushing 1886 catalog #9 pg. 21) Rooster Weathervane has an untouched surface. Its original "roost" was atop a carriage house in Essex, MA. Stands 21" tall.

Maine Chair Table in an OLD white over Original Red Paint. Two Board Top. Found recently in a Central Maine attic.

RARE & HUGE 44" Running Horse Weathervane, in an excellent original surface. Attributed to the early maker A.L. Jewell ca. 1860.

A wonderful example of cast stone garden statuary in the form of a recumbent GREAT DANE. Recently discovered on the grounds of a prominent New Hampshire estate the highly detailed canine is in a pleasing size and superior original, untouched surface. Measures 32 " long (or wide) by 13 " deep and stands 14 " tall. New England ca. 1920.

A SUPERB and GRAPHICALLY Decorated Birch Bark Log Carrier attributed to JOSEPH NICHOLAS of Maine's Penobscot Indian Nation. An EARLY example of his work. 19" x 14" by 19" tall (to top of handle). Found in a "Downeast" farmhouse. Excellent original condition.

A Historically Important 1806 NEWBURY CAVALRY ledger that is defined on its inner cover as "Records of the Company of Cavalry in the first Regiment, second Brigade and second Division of the Militia of Massachusetts". The record spans the years 1806 through 1827. The ledger is tightly bound and in superb, complete and original condition.

Large OOC by Daniel Wentworth (American 1850-1934). Superb original framing and condition. 22 " by 26 " (sight). Overall 34" by 38".

A New Hampshire Hepplewhite One Drawer Scalloped Edge Tray Stand in fine original red paint.

A fine BANNERETTE WEATHERVANE by PURINGTON IRON WORKS, in fine original surface. Measures 20" long and 25" tall. Removed recently from a barn in Thomaston, Maine.

A 1938 STEELCRAFT Peddle Car in the form of a "PLAYBOY TRUCKING CO." Dump Truck. Measures 48" in length. Original paint.

A recent attic find of LARGE carved and molded PICTURE FRAMES, some of which bear Boston LABELS, including J. Eastman Chase (framer for Winslow Homer) and Foster Brothers.
