FRESH ESTATE ANTIQUES: Nelson, E. Washington, Rye Beach, Concord, Hillsboro... PLUS THE 8TH INSTALLMENT OF TREASURES FROM THE ALF JACOBSON ESTATE: His Legacy Lives on ..... In April of this year, Alf Jacobson, NH Statesman, writer, professor, scholar & collector of antiques passed away. In the fall of 2008, Withington Auction was asked to come to the house and select 200 pieces from Alf's collection for auction. We carefully moved things around, trying to not disrupt Alf's environment, as his physical and mental state began to deteriorate. Since that time we have conducted 7 auctions of Historic China, paintings, prints, rare books & manuscripts, NH papers, political, stampless covers, post cards, military, etc. As both the quantity and quality of his collection becomes known, Alf's auctions have become "Not-to-be-missed events" among paper-maniacs. Alf's legend lives on as in the remarkable collection he amassed over his long lifetime, and we are grateful to the family for giving us the opportunity to present this fine collection to the world.
