Reward Offered For Missing Watercolor

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. — A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone who recovers and returns a watercolor that wound up missing from an art dealer’s inventory, discovered after he returned from the Miami Beach Antiques Show in February.

The work is titled “Poplar Grove in Provincetown,” a watercolor on paper measuring 9 7/8 by 13 7/8 inches. The artist is Charles Webster Hawthorne (1872–1930), an American portrait and genre painter and a noted teacher who founded the Cape Cod School of Art in 1899.
