YARMOUTH, MASS. — The Cape Cod antiquing community lost a well-known and respected dealer member when Lillian Fair Colford of Yarmouth died March 10, just two months shy of her 100th birthday.
She was born in South Natick, the first child of Alice Hall and William Fair. She and her husband Charles raised their three children in Natick, and she moved to the Cape in 1980 after his death. It was at this time that she became a well-known and respected antiques dealer.
A longtime member of the Cape Cod Antiques Dealer Association, she was a business partner of and best friend to Lillian McKinney, affectionately known as “The 2 Lils” in antiquing circles.
Lillian will be especially remembered for her humor, her positive attitude and for her unwavering support she constantly provided to her family, to her friends and to the Boston Red Sox. Her family will always be grateful for the wonderful care she received over the last eight months at Brookside Assisted Living and the Cape Regency Nursing Home in Centerville, and for the hospice and palliative care proved by HopeHealth. Donations in Lillian’s memory can be made to HopeHealth, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis MA 02601.
