BELMONT, MASS. — Fae B. Haight died June 2 at Belmont Manor Nursing Home, as the result of a long decline from Alzheimer’s.
Fae was born in Elizabeth, N.J., to Mr and Mrs William S. Bigelow. Fae was raised on Long Island and attended Manhasset High School. She went on to graduate from St Lawrence University, where she met and married Richard Gordon Haight of Colorado Springs, Colo.
She is survived by her daughter Natalie, her son Gordon and two grandsons who live in the greater Boston area.
Fae and Dick lived for many years in Doylestown, Penn., where they raised their family. They shared a love of antiques, art and animals. First financing her children’s equestrian pursuits and later college loans, Fae developed her love of antiques into a thriving business based in the Lahaska Antique Court and at her Bucks County farmhouse. She was a respected dealer of Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century painted furniture with a specialty in textiles. Fae exhibited for many years at great shows. including Mid*Week in Manchester, Heart of Country in Nashville, the Greater York Antiques Show and many other regional shows. She was loved by friends in the business and collectors across the country.
The family will have a memorial service later this summer. Any donations in Fae’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
