Christie’s sale of American Indian art on June 23 totaled $1,253,197, was 86 percent sold by lot and 91 percent sold by value.
The sale was led a Sioux painted pictorial buffalo hide robe, which sold for $107,550 to a US private buyer.
An early Cree quilled hide horse crupper went for $53,775 to the US trade, and a Sioux man’s beaded hide pictorial vest realized $47,800 from a US private buyer.
