Thomas K. Salese, antiques dealer, auctioneer and appraiser who had a shop in Larchmont, N.Y., for almost 30 years, died October 8. He was born on February 11, 1952, in the Bronx, the son of Anthony and Eleanor Ricci Salese.
Thomas was raised and educated in the Bronx, graduating from Mount St Michael Academy and Lehman College, where he received his BA in psychology.
He was a valued source of antiques for auctioneers, dealers, foreign clientele and collectors. He specialized in high quality Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century English and French furniture, which he often found during his travels to Europe. He began in the business as a young man, delivering antique furniture; he became a dealer and appraiser.
Thomas was married to the former Norma Zambano on September 24, 1977, and had three children. He was an active member of the Mount St Michael Alumni Association, an avid reader and basketball player.
He is survived by his wife Norma and three children: Jessica, David and Elizabeth Salese; his mother Eleanor Salese of the Bronx; brother Douglas and his wife Jennifer of the Bronx; sister Michele Salese of the Bronx; he was uncle to Marisa and Dana Greechan of Rye and Robert and Catherine Tompkins of Rye; brother-in-law to Laura and Hugh Greechan and Gina and Robert Tompkins; and son-in-law to Elsa and Gino Zambano of Rye.
