“It just gets better looking every year,” Arie Kopelman said on Thursday night, January 20, as the gala preview party opened the 57th annual Winter Antiques Show at the Park Avenue Armory. In fact, Arie, the show’s committee chairman, probably said it a dozen or more times that evening, and he was right on the mark. When the show is over in ten days, and the vast armory again takes on its barren look, will the exhibitors fill it again next year with more great things; can they top this year? “They always do,” Arie said with a smile.
This week, as has become our tradition, we bring a quick and abbreviated look at the show, almost an extended preview, for when our readers get their paper and website viewers visit us, there is still time to go to the Winter Antiques Show. It runs through January 30 and is open daily from noon to 8 pm, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, closing at 6 pm, at the Park Avenue Armory at 67th Street.
It is a treat. Go see it, and if you miss out, we will have many more looks at the show in a forthcoming issue.
