DOWNINGTOWN, PENN. — A carved and painted carousel goat, circa 1900, attributed to Gustav Dentzel, attained $36,000 at Pook & Pook’s Americana auction April 23, capping off a weekend of sales that kicked off the previous day with an international auction.
Also among the top prices of the day were an Edward Hicks landscape showing several figures and a dog at $22,800 and a Jacob Maentel watercolor portrait of John George Kitzmiller (1738–1824) and his wife Anna Christina (1747–1831) at $21,600.
