LEXINGTON, KY. — Researchers at the University of Kentucky have developed a noninvasive process to recover the written text from delicate and damaged scrolls. Using only cameras and imaging software, the process is able to virtually unwrap layers of rolled scroll without handling and identify the text within. The En-Gedi scroll has revealed scripture from Leviticus and it marks the earliest copy of a Pentateuchal book ever found in a Holy Ark.
