WOODSTOCK VALLEY, CONN. — The first session of the renowned collection of Dr. Charles and Jane Aprill, featuring a selection of bold, beautiful and blue early glass bottles, flasks and more, closed at Heckler’s Auction at 10 pm on March 20. An important early American Masonic arch and emblems with eagle and “J.K / B.” historical GIV-III flask by the Keene Marlboro Street Glassworks, Keene, New Hampshire, 1815-1830, sold at $71,370, with buyer’s premium. With a powerful presence and extremely rare color—a rich cobalt blue in the lower half shading to a medium cobalt blue in the upper half—a tooled flared mouth and pontil scar, the pint-sized bottle was ex Edmund and Jayne Blaske collection.
