EDISON, N.J. — A Paul Evans sculpture front cabinet was the star of Bodnar’s Auction Sales’ March 28 auction as it sold for $90,850. The work was consigned from a Monmouth Beach estate and was purchased directly from the Paul Evans Studio in New Hope, Penn., in 1974. The cabinet features Evans’ signature steel front doors with patinated welded and sculpted elements enclosed in a field of delineated boundaries. The 89-inch-wide cabinet has a slate top that sits on a patchwork copper body. It is signed Paul Evans and dated. For information, 732-210-6388 or www.bodnarsauction.com.
