BOUCKVILLE, N.Y. — Steve Allman, owner of Allman Promotions, announced that the property on which they have been conducting their show, The Big Field Antiques Show at Bouckville, N.Y., for these past years has again been sold. The farmer/owner, Ed Carhart, who bought the land from Jock Hengst about nine years ago, has sold the area used for the show to another who will be using it for sport vehicle races, according to reports given to Allman by the owner. Steve said the new owner does not want the antiques show on the field. He was made aware of the sale last week.
As such, Steve has cancelled this show, scheduled for August 16–18, 2019.
An additional problem at this time is that Steve is recovering from a serious injury due to a fall some weeks ago. Under other circumstances, he felt he would be searching and negotiating for an alternate location to continue “our great tradition,” as he said, “…but I am not able to move about. As such, I have no alternative but to cancel the show for this year and refund or return all deposits to all dealers that have sent in contracts for the show.”
Steve added “Judy and I are hopeful this is early enough notice that the exhibiting dealers will be able to make arrangements at other shows in the area for the great week of trading, and we are sorry to not be with you.”
He added that this will have no effect on their schedule of shows in the fall and winter in Syracuse and Florida.
