PITTSFIELD, MASS. — John Fontaine’s February 5 Fine & Decorative Arts sale had more than 90 items with the word “Tiffany” in the lot titles. Bidding was brisk on lamps and a Tiffany Studios Curtain Borders floor lamp, 77 inches tall and in fine condition, brought the highest price of the day, $181,250. It was signed on the shade and base. Leading the table lamps was a circa 1905 Tiffany Studios Nasturtium example, also signed on base and shade, which finished at $109,375. The sale included numerous lamps by other makers, art glass, elaborately carved furniture, paintings, George Ohr pottery, bronzes and more.
Prices quoted include the buyer’s premium; a more extensive report will appear in a future issue.
