THOMASTON, MAINE — The three-day sale, July 8-10 at Kaja Veilleux’s Thomaston Place Auction Gallery brought together more than 1,400 lots. Included were Old Master paintings, a wide selection of other paintings, folk art, furniture of all periods, jewelry, midcentury furniture and accessories, photographs by Yousuf Karsh, drawings by Norman Rockwell, John Singer Sargent, Jamie and Andrew Wyeth, Asian porcelains, bronzes and other items, along with much more. Leading the sale, sold late on the third day, was Andy Warhol’s 1967 iconic untitled serigraph of Marilyn Monroe which realized $90,000. Other highlights include John Singer Sargent’s 1924 charcoal portrait of Sir William Headworth Williamson that sold for $72,000, and a rare Tiffany Favrile glass lamp shade that reached $24,000.
