BOONTON, N.J. — Millea Bros conducted its three-day Select sale November 16-18 with more than a thousand lots offered from all categories. The top of these was a colorful canvas titled “The Pheasant” by Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976), which flew to $93,750. Painted with gouache on paper, the work was registered in the archives of the Calder Foundation and accompanied by a scanned gallery invoice. More on this and other winning lots in an upcoming issue.
