ATLANTA, GA. — Ahlers & Ogletree conducted a three-day sale of its Summer Estates & Collections auction from June 15 to 17. Of over 900 lots, the highest price achieved was for a 1979 signed and numbered color lithograph by David Hockney titled “Bora Bora.” The tropical work on paper was examined out of its frame and was in overall good condition with only some losses from previous hanging on the back. From the estate of Joyce Lowenstein, Atlanta, Ga., the Hockney multiplied its $10/15,000 estimate, selling for $47,795 with buyer’s premium. Many other lots of fine art, decorative arts and more did well in the auction and will be covered in an upcoming issue.
