BRANFORD, CONN. — Fred Giampietro’s New England Auctions’ July 25 Americana Discovery auction was more than 99 percent sold, with the 459-lot sale being topped at $5,750, including buyer’s premium, by a large group of Yale University ephemera. Comprised of several yearbooks and other books, photos of the 1892 football team and a wooden paddle dated “1924,” the lot, which carried an estimate of $100/200, was cataloged as in excellent condition with minor imperfections. After the sale, Giampietro identified the buyer only as “a collector.” A more extensive review to appear in an upcoming issue.
