WOODBURY, CONN. – Beaux Arts Gallery, 16 Sherman Hill Road, presents works by Southbury artist, Tom Adkins. The exhibit, “Luminary Landscapes, scenes of Woodbury, Southbury and Martha’s Vineyard,” continues through January 9, 2001.
Adkins has lived in New England most of his life, and he feels the atmosphere and light found here is quite unique. His keen and perceptive approach to depicting scenes of farm and country locations near Woodbury and Southbury in Western Connecticut permits the viewer to appreciate these areas more than they do already. This exhibit is his most recent major showing since 1998 and represents some 26 paintings worked on over the span of two years.
Adkin has studied at the Paier School of Art, Hamden, Conn. and at the School of Visual Arts, New York.
The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday, 11 am to 4:30 pm. Telephone, 203/263-3939.
