SANTA FE, N.M. — Altermann Galleries’ semiannual sale of Western, Native American and European art concluded on December 3 with high honors going to “Saddling Up.” The oil on canvas by Eanger Irving Couse (1866–1936) brought $105,600, including premium. Also known as “Klikitat Girl with White Pony,” the painting was exceeded in price only by a Remington 12B rifle, $288,000, said to have been owned by Annie Oakley.
