The town of Greenburgh Police Department is investigating the theft on December 16 of a pair of antique French chandeliers from an antiques restoration shop.
According to the police report, both chandeliers had been sent to the store for repair on November 30. The store owner told investigators that he had placed the chandeliers outside on a shelf in the rear of the building along with some other items in need of repair. He then went inside the store for approximately ten minutes to answer a question, and upon his return he noticed the items were missing.
The pair of chandeliers, valued at $10,000, are described as antique French bronze and beaded crystal examples with leaf design and measuring 25 inches high and 18 inches in diameter.
A reward is being offered.
Anyone having information about the chandeliers is asked to contact investigating Officer Rudy Uhlitzsch at Greenburgh Police Department at 914-682-5750. The case number is 2010-01211.
