An antique Native American bead-decorated and fringed hide rifle case containing an antique single-gauge shotgun was reported stolen from an antiques shop in coastal Maine on November 9.
The Damariscotta Police Department is investigating the burglary. The case, which measures approximately 36 to 42 inches, features two areas of distinctive beadwork and the rest of the case is tanned leather. The inoperable 12-gauge shotgun, while an antique, is not rare or valuable, according to the dealer.
Anyone having any information on the whereabouts of these items is asked to contact Damariscotta Patrol Officer Richard Alexander at 207-563-1909.
